Beware Conficker worm come April 1
I first heard about this in January as patches came out. Shortly after that I had some problems with Vista again and fiquring that it was close to six months since I had done a clean install it seemed to be time. The process takes some time and you should be wary of which patches are installed at least my experience is that they don’t all mesh if you let it go and update itself. Especially when getting the SP1 release to function this time. So five hours later I am back up and running.
If everyone were to just do the clean install and update it shouldn’t be a problem but at the very least these security patches are necessary evils and should be kept up with. I at one time was hell bent against it turned off all updates. No not allowed but then if you just let it go leave the computer on overnight it wn’t even disturb you. Security is everyone’s responsibility and should be taken care of.
Now to the point:
Why if this worm has been going around since 2008 are people just now doing the write ups. They say the code calls for Apr 1st deployment and more than 9 million infected it is either gonna be one hell of a blow up or nothing at all. tell you this my computer will be off that day. If you mind the computer with the respect it deserves you won’t have the problems that can be.
Take the time to update find a good anti-virus and just be mindful of what is going on in the technical world of computers. These things are not just for you but the community at large. Check out Security Now netcast for more information and up to date computer security information. Stay informed.
